Not authorized to change a graphic variable when using the LANSA for the Web Editor

When attempting to use the LANSA for the Web Editor to manually change or delete a graphic variable, which was created using the e-Business Framework Wizard, you received the following message:

"You are not authorized to change system variable ..."

Solution

When you execute the Wizard, you create LANSA graphic variables, which use LANSA system variables. The owner of these system variables is based on the user profile used when executing the Wizard.

If you wish to edit these graphic variables using the LANSA for the Web Editor, you must have authority to the system variables. The owner may grant authority to change/delete these variables, or you may logon with the LANSA for the Web Editor using the owner's profile.

To determine the owner of the system variables, you may use the LANSA Housekeeping options and review the access to the LANSA objects.

To determine the user profile being used when you execute the Wizard, refer to Wizard Security Configuration in the Installing LANSA on Windows Guide.

If Web Server authentication has been set up, then you will enter a Web Server profile and password, and you should be able to determine the application/date server user profile being used when you execute the Wizard. If no authentication has been configured, then anonymous user access is being used. You must determine the profile associated with the DFTUSR.
